CALL YOURSELF CREATIVE??
For a so-called creative industry, the music business seems fresh out of fresh ideas on fighting piracy. Or so says PowerInfo Chief Executive Gehan Talwatte. "Trying to discourage the free download crowd by issuing Robbie Williams' new album before the featured single is just a defensive reaction. Why can't music moguls be PRO-active instead, finding out what their customers want and pioneering the technology to deliver it?" The main record industry bodies, like the RIAA, might want to think about that before launching more lawsuits against teen-aged music lovers.

There’s been no peace dividend yet for equity markets in countries whose governments are opposed to the current Gulf war. While the main indices in New York and London are down 2-3% since March 20, their losses are half, in percentage terms, of the Paris CAC and Frankfurt DAX. PowerInfo Chief Executive Gehan Talwatte says “The anti-American, anti-War stance is popular politically, but it’s obviously scaring the hell out of French and German companies. Like it or not, those governments are going to have to re-engage with Washington to stay out of the economic cold.”
